Trouble-free Mobile Filmmaking

On Thursday, 8 November, the LIFFe ITAK Workshop delighted those interested in making low-budget films. The development of state-of-the-art technology has made it possible for an everyman to become a filmmaker and make short films with his/her mobile phone. But because a phone and talent are not enough, the prerequisite knowledge was imparted by mentor Nejc Gazvoda.

After the introductory discussion entitled “Mobile Shooting – A Substitute for Classical Film Making or the New Aesthetic?” two film teams shot on location – a creatively highly enthusiastic couple staging a fight and a group with a documentary approach. In a relaxed atmosphere the filmmakers later on edited the recorded material.

The first workshop of its kind in Slovenia concluded with the finding that the Slovenian youth holds many budding and promising filmmakers, who have not so far been able to recognize their talent. Perhaps next year there will be enough brave hearts to compose a small film team.
